Last May I graduated college and except for the pictures taken on the day of the ceremony, I didn't have any "professionally" done photos. Well, there was that candid picture a photographer takes the moment the dean hands you your diploma case, but mine turned out really bad that I didn't show the online proof to anyone, especially my mom who will definitely insist I order a copy and I'll be stuck a picture I hate forever (and you can just bet she'll frame it and it will grace our living room for all to see).
Anyway, I was quite happy with the grad pictures I already have, but last week, out of the blue, my mom had a "mom moment." She had my brother (he graduated high school in June) and I gather and pack our grad caps and gowns and took us to a Sears studio. It was like school photo day all over again with a few more stiff poses than usual. For about an hour I had to do a bunch of silly poses by myself and then a bunch more with my brother directed by the photographer. A few of the poses were so awkward that my gown even ripped a little bit at one point. The only fun part of the afternoon was watching my brother struggle through it as well (man, I didn't realize he was really bad with directions!). But here are are my results in all its awkwardness.
I guess I have to forgive my mom. Apparently, two of your kids graduating around the same time (or graduating period) is a big accomplishment in Parent World.
