I went to the mall yesterday even though I was broke, but I went to mostly hangout with my friends after weeks of just straight working and staying home during the weekends. Of course, as I am wont to do if I am in a mall, I buy things even though I know it's not smart. However, I did limit myself to $40 (including lunch). Before hand, I did plan to buy necklaces to dress up a few plain shirts I bought online a while ago. I got a gold one and a silver one from Forever 21, both around five dollars.
When we stopped by at Macy's, I went to the Mac counter and tried on this pretty neutral lipstick and I saw that they had a sample of the Naked Honey Skin Salve out. A bunch of people were raving about the salve on YouTube, about how it's a multi-purpose balm that can work for your nails, dry skin all over your body, lips, and maybe even possibly hair. I really wanted to get it (as well as the Clinique Emergency Gel-Lotion that I have as a sample at home), but I stopped myself. After that, we went to American Eagle Outfitters and I bought this shirt.
It was only six bucks fifty, so I thought that was pretty good considering that the original price was twenty-four fifty. I've noticed when I was rearranging my drawers the other day that about 75% of my clothes are from American Eagle (AE). I really like their clothes because they fit me, they're simple, easy to wear and comfortable. They also have pretty good sales at the store, which I really like and always take advantage of. I really like Forever 21's clothes as well, but I can hardly seem to find ones that fit me in the way AE clothes do. Forever 21 clothes are also not that durable, as after a few washes they pretty much fall apart and while AE clothes are not that durable too, they retain their shape a lot longer.
When we tired of the mall, we went to this new frozen yogurt place on Maui called Tutti Frutti. I wasn't really impressed. They only had about ten flavors and not a very good selection of toppings, so I only spent about three dollars there. Then, we went to Ross (which is like a Marshall's but not as good). That is one store everyone I know seem to find great deals, but not me. More often than not go in there and leave disappointed without buying anything. Yesterday was a good day though, because I found this pretty short sleeved cardigan, which is what I need because I can't wear long sleeved ones in the very hot and muggy weather we've been having lately but I still don't want to show too much skin if I want to wear a tank top like the one I purchased in AE. Sadly, I couldn't afford it. I will go back later and hopefully it's still there and the price will be lower. I did buy a french manicure kit for three bucks. I did try it out as soon as I got home but it didn't really work out. I will try again later.
At the end of the day, I had ten dollars left from the forty I started with. I was pretty proud of myself and a good Labor Day overall.
