Asian Dramas

I haven't blogged for a while and here's why:

For the last few weeks, I have been watching Boys Before Flowers the South Korean version. This particular drama was very closely based on the original Japanese Hana Yori Dango (which translates to "boys before/over flowers") but with better looking guys in my opinion. This drama has all the cliche romantic story plot coming at you one after the other: a poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks catching the attention of an arrogant boy who made her life miserable at first but they eventually fall in love, an evil parent doing everything in her power to keep the couple apart, the boy getting a fiance, amnesia... and with all those conflict it ended in an abrupt, rushed way that I didn't like. Nevertheless, it was very addicting and I watched all 25 episodes one after the other on Youtube (as I'm wont to do when watching Korean dramas) and this kept me from blogging this whole entire time.

This drama was my first after a year long hiatus. I often procrastinated in college by watching dramas online, but dramas like these can get old after a while. I vowed then that I am never going to watch another one--I've had enough of the sappy plots that became repetitive and trite. Yet here I am, so I guess a year is long enough to renew my interest. Now, I am watching another Korean drama, Shining Inheritance. This one is a Cinderella kind of story about a girl with a very evil stepmother and a semi-evil stepsister...
